Restaurant Liftstüberl Castelrotto

The history of the restaurant Liftstüberl began in 1970, when Joseph Gabloner built the small and quaint “Skihütte” (ski lodge) right next to the ski lift in Castelrotto / South Tyrol. Now in its second generation, the traditional little lodge under the leadership of Karl and Anita Gabloner has transformed into a charming restaurant. The Restaurant Liftstüberl is a wonderful place to enjoy a relaxed atmosphere, delicious treats and fine wines. Only five minutes walk from the village centre of Castelrotto, the Restaurant Liftstüberl welcomes guests for lunch and dinner.

Your host himself will personally indulge you both at lunchtime and on an evening with local and international specialities, placing great value on quality, freshness and the use of local produce.
Our hostess and her service team make it their mission to look after their guests’ every need and to make your visit the best it can be with attractively set tables and attentive and knowledgeable service.
Our history – Restaurant Liftstüberl
Our restaurant was founded in 1970 by Josef Gabloner as a small “ski hut” directly alongside the “Guns” ski lift.
For 20 years, hard-working tenants ran the establishment until, in 1990, Karl Gabloner inherited it from his father, since which time he has run the family business together with his wife, Anita.
Little by little the Liftstüberl has been rebuilt and extended, including refurnishing the 30-seat dining room, redesigning the entrance area and creating parking spaces.
Upstairs a private apartment was built for the family to live in with the four children, Miriam, Martin, Manuel and Max. In 2000 our restaurant was enhanced by the addition of a sunny conservatory, providing an additional 30 seating places.
Playground for our little ones
Whilst your children let off steam on our own playground, you can take a break over coffee and cakes and forget the stresses and strains of everyday life!
